Allfather - And All Will Be Desolation (album review)

And All Will Be Desolation
Allfather
Rotting Throne Records
7 September 2018

Heavy. Sludgy. Headbanging fury. It's totally awesome when you stumble onto an album that is just a joy to listen to. It's straight ahead angry wicked sludgy loud bombastic full of energy music. I won't bore you with trying to put it into a category. Just buy it on September 7th and play it loudly. Allfather have been around since 2013. I've sadly missed five years of this aural infatuation. And All Will Be Desolation is 7 tracks of lovelyness. Some songs have this wicked skater-punk vibe. Some songs are barroom brawl intense bloodfests. The guitar solos are fucking sweet! The vocals are horror movie spine chilling. The compositions flow with the viscosity of sweet Vermont molasses. Production values are high. You can hear every nuanced note from all the instruments. "Lord Betrayer" is just amazing. It has this forward momentum that is unstoppable. The guitars just sound good! It's a headbanging good time. I dare you to listen to it and not bang your head, or throw up devil horns or scream yeahhhhhhhh out loud!  "Lampedusa" is the most amazing thing I've heard in a long time. It's like an evil nursery rhyme.

Allfather's And All Will Be Desolation is a solid 8 out of 10.
